The Perrin Technique

At West Perth Osteopathy, we are proud to have three qualified Perrin Practitioners on our team. The Perrin Technique, developed by Dr. Raymond Perrin, is a specialized osteopathic approach designed to diagnose and treat chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME) and long COVID. This innovative technique has been instrumental in helping many individuals regain their health and improve their quality of life.

What is The Perrin Technique?

The Perrin Technique is based on the premise that CFS/ME is caused by a disturbance in the lymphatic drainage of the central nervous system. This disruption leads to a buildup of toxins in the brain and spinal cord, contributing to the debilitating symptoms associated with these conditions. The technique involves specific osteopathic methods to stimulate the lymphatic system, enhancing the body's ability to remove these toxins and promoting natural healing.

During your initial consultation, our practitioners will conduct a thorough assessment, including a detailed medical history and physical examination. Subsequent sessions will involve the application of the Perrin Technique, focusing on specific areas of the body to stimulate lymphatic drainage and promote healing. Patients are also provided with personalized advice on posture and lifestyle modifications to support their recovery.

  • Manual Lymphatic Drainage: Gentle massage techniques are used to stimulate lymphatic drainage, encouraging the removal of toxins from the brain and spinal cord.
  • Spinal Manipulation: Specific adjustments to the spine help improve overall nervous system function and alleviate pressure on the lymphatic system.
  • Cranial Osteopathy: Techniques focused on the head and neck regions aid in relieving tension and enhancing fluid drainage.
  • Postural and Lifestyle Advice: Guidance on maintaining optimal posture and lifestyle changes that support the healing process and prevent relapse.
  • Reduction in Symptoms: Many patients experience significant relief from fatigue, pain, and other symptoms of CFS/ME.
  • Improved Energy Levels: Enhanced lymphatic drainage and toxin removal can lead to increased energy and vitality.
  • Enhanced Well-Being: Overall improvement in physical and mental well-being, enabling patients to return to their normal activities.
