12 for Twelve
Ever wondered what your Osteopaths get up to when they’re not at West Perth Osteopathy?
Two of our osteopaths, Dr Madeleine Goodman and Dr Robert De Maio, are currently training to complete the half marathon in the HBF Run for a Reason at the end of May. For Madeleine, this will be her first half marathon. Bob will be completing his 9th.
Both Madeleine and Bob are running on behalf of the team 12 for Twelve, a fundraising effort established by Perth local, Rhett Nicholas, in memory of his sister Brittany.
In 2018, 12 For Twelve are running 12 half marathons to raise $100,000 for BeyondBlue. This is to help support the work they do for mental health and wellness in Australia. With every run, Rhett hopes to reach out to the community to drive the change in conversation around mental health, one step at a time.
Along for the ride are many of Rhett’s friends; however, 12 for Twelve welcome anyone looking for a team to register with for the HBF run. If you would like to run on behalf of 12 for Twelve, please follow this link to the HBF registry page. Runners (or walkers!) for the 4km, 12km or 21.2 km options are all welcome to join.
If running isn’t for you, but you’d like to help Rhett reach his goal of a $100 000 donation to BeyondBlue, please find a link to 12 for Twelve’s support page here. Bob, Madeleine and Rhett thank you for your support.
In follow up posts, Madeleine and Bob take you through some of the their tips for sustaining a consistent training regime to get you prepped for HBF’s Run for a Reason next month.
From mobility and stretching, to sleep and hydration, and thoroughly warming up, Dr Madeleine and Dr Bob will have you raring to go!
